World Meeting Committee
ISSM’s Biennial World Meeting on Sexual Medicine (WMSM) is the most important global event in sexual medicine. The meeting provides a venue for health care professionals to come together for three and a half intensive days of academic lectures, poster presentations, business meetings, evening receptions, and general conversation on an array of topics related to human sexual function and dysfunction.
Because of the importance of the WMSM, the ISSM Executive Office decided to set up a dedicated World Meeting Committee to supervise all WMSM related program activities and provide financial and logistical guidance to the planning and execution of this event.
The World Meeting Committee’s responsibility involves, in coordination with the ISSM executive director, the ISSM director of meetings and events, and the Executive Committee, undertaking the task of organizing many aspects of the WMSM. Most importantly, the Committee will supervise meeting logistics and define the framework of activities to be executed at every WMSM by developing a preliminary schedule of events. This schedule of events defines all activities per day, including but not limited to pre- and post-meetings symposia, sessions and courses, session types (nr. of Master Lectures, debates, Round Tables), special meetings, sponsored sessions, committee activities, social events, etc.
The World Meeting Committee is not responsible for the selection of a conference theme, selecting plenary and keynote speakers, and other faculty, as this responsibility lies with the ISSM Scientific Committee. If any special theme or plenary or keynote speaker has been selected for the WMSM of ISSM, then the chair of the Scientific Committee will forward this information to the World Meeting Committee in a timely manner. The World Meeting Committee is also not responsible for the initial placement of abstracts in sessions as this is also the responsibility of the ISSM Scientific Committee.
This committee will be in place per January 2019.
