Nominations ISSM Board of Directors
The ISSM Executive Office has received several nominations for the open positions in the ISSM Board of Directors. The candidates have all provided the 20 valid petition forms, are members of ISSM and have regularly paid their membership fees. There is a good representation from different regions and from the regional affiliated societies.
The Nominating Committee does not recommend a particular candidate, but recommends to think of the regional representations when voting.
On behalf of the Nominating Committee,

The ISSM Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the following 4 open positions on the Board of Directors, which is the governing authority of the ISSM:
- Secretary General; and
- Two (2) Members-at-Large.
The President-Elect serves for two (2) years before becoming President for two (2) years. Additionally, he or she serves two (2) more years as Immediate Past-President on the Board. The Secretary General and the two Members-at-Large all serve four-year terms.
Those making nominations are asked to reflect on the qualifications related to the position for which they are nominating themselves or a candidate. Qualifications can be reviewed online by clicking HERE.
The Nominating Committee, comprised of the Past Presidents of ISSM and the Presidents (or their representative) of each Regional Affiliated Society, chaired by the Immediate Past-President of ISSM, is empowered by our constitution to recommend one candidate for each available position. The committee, whose members have particular knowledge of the qualities required from candidates for these positions, will only make such recommendations to further the best interests of the Society. Lobbying of committee members is not permitted. It is very important for all members to understand that they may vote for any properly nominated candidate and not just for a candidate recommended by the Nominating Committee, if any.
Elections and Voting Process
Due to unprecedented circumstances around the globe (due to the Covid-19 pandemic), the ISSM recently announced the postponement and rescheduling of the 22nd World Meeting on Sexual Medicine (WMSM) to November 15-17, 2021. As a result of postponing the WMSM and in compliance with section 6.7 of the ISSM bylaws, the ISSM Board of Directors has decided that this year’s elections of officers and directors of the ISSM will be by written ballots, which will be taken by electronic transmission.
The ISSM Board of Directors unanimously agreed that offering voters easy access to an inclusive, transparent, and accountable electronic voting system to hold ISSM’s elections is in the best interest of all ISSM members. Therefore, all ISSM members in good standing will be allowed to cast their vote during a one-month voting window that opens on Saturday, August 15, 2020 and will close on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 23:59 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC -7). A Board approved online voting system will be used to verify the validity of each ballot and to collect the votes. The elected candidates will be announced during the ISSM business meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
