Twitter is a free, interactive social media service that allows users to share information and ideas in real time. Posts are called “tweets” and are limited to 140 characters.
Used around the world, Twitter is available in over 20 languages. You can access Twitter on your computer or on a variety of mobile devices using a free Twitter app.
According to Twitter’s “About” page, over 100 million people currently use the service.
The ISSM is now tweeting daily under the handle @ISSM_INFO. Our tweets include news about the organization, links to relevant website content, and sexual health information that affects our patients and our practices.
Following the ISSM on Twitter is easy.
- If you already have a Twitter account, just click here to access our profile page. Once there, click the “Follow” button in the top right corner and you’re done!
- If you’re new to Twitter, you can sign up for an account from our profile page. Enter your name, e-mail address, and a password and click the “sign up” button. Follow the prompts to set up your own profile and preferences. Once you’re set up, you can follow us at @ISSM_INFO, along with any other accounts that interest you.

Following us on Twitter is a great way to keep updated on what’s happening with the ISSM. You can also interact with us with your own tweets or direct messages, if you choose.
